Owner-led by Joseph Parrott

STS is shaped by a lifelong relationship with technology, practical software work, and a local commitment to the Eastern Shore.

Joseph Parrott started with technology early, building his first computer with his dad when he was 8 years old. What began as curiosity became a lifelong habit of taking systems apart, understanding how they work, and building better tools around real people and real problems.

Before founding STS, Joseph's first software engineering work was as a college freelancer, building backend APIs and frameworks that helped connect frontend experiences to reliable data and services. Since then, his experience has crossed full stack development, game development, hardware, marketing, banking, medical, government, and small-business technology work.

Joseph studied political science, astronomy, and computer science at Appalachian State University, graduating in 2019. Originally from eastern North Carolina, he moved to the Eastern Shore to build a life with his partner. STS reflects that mix: technical depth, broad context, and a local commitment to making technology easier for nearby businesses to use and trust.

Local Eastern Shore commitment backed by broader East Coast roots

Local-first does not mean small thinking.

The STS approach is built for nearby businesses that need practical help, but it is informed by work in environments where trust, documentation, and operational clarity matter.

  • Primary local base: Cape Charles and nearby Northampton County businesses are the center of STS local support work.
  • Eastern Shore reach: Support can extend up the Shore into Accomack County when the fit and schedule make sense.
  • Selective bridge work: Some needs across the bridge in Virginia Beach can be supported, especially scoped consulting and planned work.
  • Remote-capable projects: App development, workflow planning, website/domain help, and consulting can often move forward remotely.
